Lumineers® Dentist, Dr. Hang Le can dramatically improve your smile with the application of custom-made Lumineers® veneers which are bonded to the teeth surface resulting in an incredible smile.
What are Lumineers®
Lumineers® veneers are ultra-thin shells of porcelain that are custom made to fit over teeth, providing a natural and beautiful smile. Cosmetic Dentist Dr. Le has treated many patients in her Fairfax, VA dental office  with custom Lumineers® veneers to fix the following conditions:

  1. Repair a chipped tooth
  2. Improve stains or tooth discoloration
  3. Repair irregularly shaped teeth or spaces
  4. Repair misaligned teeth
  5. Repair small or large teeth

Lumineers® vs Veneers
Lumineers and Porcelain Veneers are similar in appearance but differ significantly in composition and how they are made and applied to the patient.

  1. Porcelain Veneers:
will require some reshaping of the original tooth (or teeth) and removal of some tooth enamel to create a natural appearance that doesn’t look too bulky. This removal is the main difference between Veneers and Lumineers as this requires some pain management to desensitize the teeth while it is being prepared for Veneers.
  2. Lumineers: are very thin (about the size of contact lens) and require little to no preparation or removal of the tooth enamel. This less invasive and less painful process allows for the patient to still maintain most of their original tooth enamel while still getting the beautiful smile with Lumineers.

Before Getting Lumineers® Veneers
Lumineers® Veneers require a high degree of skills to design, shape and place on the teeth. Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Le of Fairfax, VA has performed this procedure many many times and is renowned for her process of using her own hand made temporary Veneers to perfect the smile before the permanent veneers are made.

Before starting any treatment,  there is a smile makeover consultation with Dr. Le to outline the exact procedure.  Dr. Le is a highly skilled Veneers dentist and will usually create temporary veneers by hand to demonstrate the incredible improvement in your smile.

Porcelain Veneers are tooth-colored, and Dr. Le can custom match the shade of your veneer to that of the existing teeth to give a more natural looking smile.

Getting Lumineers®
Lumineers® Veneers can be had in 2-3 dental visits. The first visit is usually a smile analysis consultation with Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Le in her dental office in Fairfax, VA to design your new smile.

Once your smile design is complete, an impression (mold) of your teeth is taken and sent to a lab where your custom-made Veneers will be created to match your teeth shape and color.

On your final visit your custom-made Lumineers® Veneers will be applied with little or no anesthesia, the tooth is prepared by lightly buffing and shaping the surface to allow the Lumineers® to fit perfectly with your other teeth. The Lumineers® is then placed on the tooth and secured permanently with specialized dental cement.

Caring for your Lumineers®
Lumineers® veneers can last for years if the patient maintains it. Dr. Le uses the the industry leading Lumineer Veneers that are made of advanced composite materials that allows them to be very thin and yet very strong and are of highest quality. One advantage of veneers is that you can replace a single veneer if there is an issue with it.

It is very important to take care to not abuse the veneers, as they can be broken or damaged if used incorrectly.  We recommend that you avoid biting into foods that are hard or firm with your veneers to minimize shock.

We always recommend that patients with Lumineers® Veneers must wear a night guard to protect their teeth from grinding while sleeping

Lumineers® Veneers let you easily whiten your smile and straighten your teeth, but to keep them looking their best, you need to take care of them. Avoid foods or drinks that could damage your veneers, brush twice a day and see Dr. Le for you regular dental exams.
