1. Dr. Le will thoroughly clean the teeth to be sealed and then surround the tooth with cotton to keep the area dry.
2. First, our dentist will apply a special solution to the tooth enamel surface to help the sealant bond to the teeth.
3. Once the teeth are then rinsed and dried, Dr. Le will carefully apply the Dental Sealant onto the enamel surface covering any deep grooves or depressions on the teeth.
4. The Sealant is then allowed a few minutes to dry on its own or we use a special curing light.

Research has shown that over 75% of dental decay begins in these deep grooves in your teeth because they are harder to clean which results in bacteria building up and the teeth is more susceptible to decay.

Dr. Le can apply a sealant which protects the tooth by sealing deep grooves, creating a smooth, easy to clean surface. Sealants can protect teeth from decay for many years, but need to be checked for wear and chipping at your regular dental exams.

1. Sealants for Baby teeth:
   Dr. Le will recommend that sealants be done only if the teeth have deep grooves or depressions and child is cavity prone.
2. Sealants for Children and Teenagers:
   Dr. Le recommends that Sealants be applied for children as soon as the six-year molars (the first permanent back teeth) appear and any time throughout the cavity prone years of 6-16.
3. Sealants for Adults:
   We recommend that Adults also get Dental Sealants for those tooth surfaces without decay that have deep grooves or depressions to protect the tooth from decay.
